A retinal tear is a painless rupture that occurs in the light-sensing lining of the eye and can cause troubling vision changes. Some of these changes often include: floating dark spots, bursts of light and blurry vision.
Treatments for retinal tears include:
- Laser surgery
- Cryotherapy (freezing)
These procedures seal the retina to the back wall of the eye. They cause little or no discomfort and may be performed in our office. These treatments usually prevent retinal detachment.
